End-to-end process

End-to-end process

is the complete sequence of activities from an initial business need to its final result. It includes the work and handovers across all departments involved, rather than looking at each team separately.

Companies often review end-to-end processes such as fulfilling an order or completing a service visit. This can reveal delays, duplicate work and unclear responsibilities. However, improvements in one department may have limited value if the next handover still causes problems.

An ERP system can connect the records and steps across an end-to-end process. For example, a customer order can link to stock allocation, delivery, invoicing and payment. This helps teams follow progress and manage the whole process with shared information.
